Welcome to the
S.S.S. Ravanica Page!

The S.S.S Ravanica Choir...
A non -profit choir organization consisting of tonal
admirers and supporters of Religious as well as Secular music
We started in 1931 as a part of the Serbian Singing
Federation ( SSF )
The S.S.S. Ravanica was formed in 1931 as an all
male choir by Vlajko Lugonja. Shortly after that it became a mixed choir as we
stand today. We are proud to be a member of the Serbian Singing Federation whose
member choirs are in the United States and Canada.
Under the direction of Dr. Millard Golusin
whose musical background abounds immensely.
We
strive to keep our Serbian heritage alive spiritually and musically. We have toured throughout the United States and Canada
and have hosted many Choral Festivals throughout the years
We are an eight part acapella choir with 40+ members
that blend stirring folk music from our Balkan homelands as well as spiritually
enriching, soul stirring responses of the Eastern Orthodox Church.
We sing those responses at The St. Lazarus Serbian
Orthodox Cathedral in Detroit, Michigan. The beautiful Liturgy that are done by
our Priests, along with the choir makes attending services an experience.
Our Choir has appeared on radio and TV as well as
cutting a record years ago. S.S.S. Ravanica has performed at the Freedom
Festivals and at numerous concert venues across the United States and Canada.
We have many up and coming singers in our Junior
Choir, which we hope that traditions will continue in the future.
Feel free to browse through our site for our rich
history and upcoming events, Choir Photos past and present

You are welcome to join The Choir in Church on Sundays up in
the loft or just come in at a practice on at 7:30 P M at the Serbian
Hall on Van Dyke, always looking for New Voices!
We are proud to be a part of The
Tri-centennial of Detroit and the City's History
