RAVANICA SISTERS’ ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

Circle of Serbian Sisters of Ravanica have hosted their Annual Christmas Luncheon with a special fundraiser this year. On Sunday, December 3, 2006, our Sisters had their Annual luncheon in Ravanica's Small Hall. Sisters and their guests enjoyed the wonderful Lenten meal, and at the same time performed a charity work. Instead of presenting Christmas gifts to each other, Sisters decided to collect the money they would use on gifts and donate it to the St. Petka Monastery-Orphanage in Serbia. Together with their guests sisters donated $436.00 to this charity. What a wonderful example from our Sisters. Thank you, and may God grant you many years.

MIDWESTERN CIRCLE OF SERBIAN SISTERS SLAVA

Every year, Circle of Serbian Sisters of Midwestern Metropoliatanate celebrates its Krsna Slava, The Dormition of The Most Holy Mother of God (Uspenje, Velika Gospojina).

This year Sisters decided to have two children, a boy and a girl from our diocese to be main celebrants of Slava. The honor for this calling has fallen on Nikola Savatic from Lake Forest, IL, and on Marianna Lazich, daughter of Michael and Marissa from our Parish.

After Divine Liturgy in St. Sava Monastery Church, that was presided by His Eminence, our Metropolitan Christopher, there was the Cutting of Slava Kolach, and a short program with lunch in the Monastery Building which was made for purpose of Summer Camp, and is also used for St. Sava School of Theology.

We also congratulate Marianna for taking part in this important event, and representing our parish for Sister’s Slava.
